Caprylic Acid, also known as octanoic acid, is a naturally occurring fatty acid that provides gradual release calcium and magnesium caprylates to help maintain healthy candida balance.*
Caprylic acid promotes a favorable environment for beneficial microflora. Due to its fat solubility, it is believed to penetrate intestinal mucosal cells to exert its effects. In Pure Encapsulations Caprylic Acid, calcium and magnesium caprylates act as buffers and may also help slow the dispersion of caprylic acid to support its activity throughout the gastrointestinal tract.*
What is the Source?
Caprylic acid is derived from from palm oil. Calcium and magnesium are derived from the lime of rock.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Caprylic acid may be contraindicated with NSAID’s (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) and certain blood thinning medications. Consult your physician for more information.
