About Us - what is your philosophy on how you run the company?

Founded by a licensed Naturopath with 33 years of experience in homeopathy, nutrition, chinese Acupuncture and herbology, energy medicine, and more, Wild Earth Market operates with the primary goal of helping customers gain easy, direct access to top-of-the-line products and tools.

Your Wild Earth Market team is comprised of some of the finest people in the natural health industry. We love what we do, and we are motivated by a passion for health and wellness. Always Fresh Inventory - I see this on some of your product pages; what does that mean?

We carry only the purest, highest quality products, many of which are hard to find elsewhere. To maintain freshness and superior quality, we properly store, rotate, and stock all of our offerings in our climate controlled warehouse facilities. We order daily from our manufacturers in small, frequent batches for a lightning fast delivery of the freshest products available.

The products we inventory are fresh, updated formulas with optimal potency and quality. In contrast, many other retailers order their inventory in bulk (by the pallet) to receive greater discounts for themselves. Accumulating inventories of that size, many of these retailers risk offering tainted, aged and/or near expired products. We do not do that in order to insure you have the freshest products available.

back

Allergy Reseach Group - different from Nutricology?

Allergy Research Group® is a premier potency product line that carries the Allergy Research Group® label and is available only through doctors and other healthcare practitioners.

The industry-standard NutriCology® label products is typically found in health food stores.

Regardless of the formula, the joint parent manufacturer for both these product lines uses the highest quality raw ingredients, hypoallergenic wherever possible, in all of their products.

Back Orders - what are your policies on back ordered products?

Back orders are uncommon, but unfortunately, they are inevitable in retail sales.  We are very proactive in monitoring whether a product is sold out - and in placing frequent re-stocking orders. However, unexpected delays are possible. If in case such a delay occurs, we will contact you ASAP via your order status page, email, and/or by phone.

In the event that a product is out-of-stock, or shipping must be delayed, we will place your order on 'short-term back-order status' and email you with the projected shipping date.

Once we have received the back-ordered item(s), we will email you with notification that your order has shipped along with a confirmation and tracking number so you can follow the delivery progress of your shipment.

Please note that shipping costs are not refundable - if your order is delayed, or the items are back-ordered.

If you are a registered customer of Wild Earth Market (not a guest), you will be able to determine your order status at any time, including any notifications of back orders and shipping delays, by accessing your personal account login.

If your order contains multiple items and you would like the in-stock items to be shipped right away, please contact our customer service department upon receiving your 'notification of Back Order' e-mail. We will gladly ship the items we have on hand immediately, and once the backordered items arrive at our warehouse, we will ship them to you at no additional shipping cost.

If your order is split in this manner, the shipping method used for the remaining back ordered items is determined as follows:

1. If you selected Standard Shipping as your shipping method, we will ship the back ordered item(s) to you by USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground at our discretion.

2. If you selected UPS Next Day Air, UPS Second Day Air, or UPS Ground as your shipping method, the back ordered item(s) will be shipped by UPS Ground, unless otherwise requested (additional shipping charges may apply if you wish to upgrade).

We appreciate your patience in such rare occurrences, and your understanding that such delays do not award you free goods or services.

A simple analogy of this would be when your local grocery store runs out of bread during an unexpected winter storm, and the bread truck cannot get there to re-fill the shelves. The store cannot suddenly afford to give away their products and services due to the unexpected surge in demand and/or delays in re-stocking.  Quite simply, they would go out of business.

Be assured that we reserve the right to work with you towards a fair remedy for unexpected delays.

back

Catalog - do you have a printed catalog?

We are a completely online company, and do not currently produce a printed catalog. We believe the paper required to print such a written catalog is wasteful on many levels, and environmentally detrimental. Additionally, it drives up the prices we can offer you.

Please feel free to browse our brands online and if you have any questions, we are here to assist you!

back

Communications - how is the best way to reach you?

As we are an Internet company, we communicate with you primarily by email. If you have any questions, please contact us ... we are here for you.

Please note: Wild Earth Market is an e-mail only customer service business.

We do NOT offer telephone-based customer service at this time.

We do this in order to achieve three things 1). reduce overhead costs in order to keep our sales prices to you as low as possible, 2). insure precise, accurate and documentable information transfer between ourselves and you, and 3). increase the speed of our customer service responses - one person can handle up to hundreds of emails with better speed, efficiency and accuracy than tending to a couple of dozen random telephone calls each day.

Please provide an accurate email address with your order. We also encourage you to add us to your email contact list, or investigate your Internet browser and security programs to ensure that you will receive emails from us regarding your order and shipment(s). We do not want to end up in your Spam or Junk mail boxes!

Credit Cards - which ones do you take? And is your web site secure?

Our shopping cart accepts payments from American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.

Our shopping cart automatically secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. It secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When sensitive personal information (such as a credit card number and other financial information) is transmitted over the Internet, it is protected through the use of a state-of-the-art 256-bit encryption, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. The information is encrypted on your computer, sent through the Internet as jumbled code, and decoded on our secure server. It cannot be read in transit.

More simply: To protect you, your financial information and us … when you place an order, the credit card info goes straight to your merchant bank, then they submit back to us an Approval. All we get is the last four digits … we never actually possess, or even see, your credit card data.

Customer Service - do you have English-speaking Americans taking care of your customers?

Our entire Wild Earth Market staff are United States Citizens, ranging in age from 22 to 61. While we do have several multi-linguistics employed, all speak and write standard American English.

Your emails will be answered by real human beings - not robots, or computers. That may sound funny but too often mega online retailers are automated, impersonal monoliths. Not here. We have a heartbeat, we are easy to contact, and we want to hear from you!

And, unlike most internet suppliers, we actually order, receive and ship our products straight from our warehouse. In most cases, we process and ship your order within 36 hours of receiving it (Monday through Friday). We do not have a "fulfillment subcontractor" who may or may not be able to deliver your order promptly, if at all.

Excipients - what are excipients?

Also referred to as fillers by the Food Chemical Codex, excipients are inactive ingredients used in some dietary and nutritional products. These are nutrient compounds which are utilized for their physical properties to aid in the supplement production process. They are derived from edible sources and are generally free of common allergens.

Read a product's ingredients label to determine which, if any, natural additives are included.

The following are common excipients:

Cellulose Powder is derived from fibrous plant material, is insoluble in water and is used as a filler. In addition to being used as a filler, cellulose powder is sold as an individual supplement as a pure insoluble fiber, and is extremely well tolerated.

Silicon Dioxide, or silica is one of the most common chemical compounds. Silica plays an important role in biological processes. Most rocks and minerals are made of silicon dioxide and other minerals. Silica is insoluble in water and used for its drying properties.

Stearic Acid is an 18 carbon, naturally occurring saturated fatty acid. It is a component of membrane structure and is utilized for its lubricating properties.

Magnesium Stearate contains stearic acid and magnesium palmitate, which is magnesium salt of a 16 carbon saturated fatty acid, also common in membrane structure. It is also utilized for its lubricating properties.

Dicalcium phosphate (calcium phosphate, dibasic) is a white, odorless, tasteless powder that is stable in air. It is practically insoluble in water, but is readily soluble in hydrochloric acid.

CarboWax, polyethylene glycol, is used in food products (polyethylene is the masticatory substance in chewing gum base) as a lubricant, binder, dispersing agent, and flavoring adjuvant.

Miglyol 812® is a particular brand of medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil. Miglyol 812® MCT is fractionated coconut oil having a boiling range of 240-270°C and composed of saturated C8 (50-65%) and C10 (30-45%) triglycerides. It is widely used as a safe oil in food manufacturing, nutritional supplements, and in research.

FDA - are all of your products manufactured in FDA-approved facilities?

Yes.  A Food and Drug Administration-approved establishment is one which has registered with the FDA as a facility which is used for manufacturing, processing, packing, or holding foods and supplements for human consumption.  All of the foods and supplements offerd at Wild Earth Market are produced in FDA-approved facilities.

back

FDA - are these dietary supplements tested and approved by the FDA?

No. The FDA is the Food and Drug Administration, the federal regulatory agency responsible for monitoring the safety of foods and drugs sold in the U.S. The FDA oversees safety with regards to the manufacturing and product information of dietary supplements, such as claims in a product's labeling, but does not directly authorize or test dietary supplements.

back

GMP - are all of the manufacturers whose products you carry listed under the GMP certification?

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is a certification of the FDA which guarantees that any products a company makes are safe and pure.  The regulations also address issues including recordkeeping, personnel qualifications, sanitation, cleanliness, equipment verification, process validation and complaint handling.

There are many supplement companies on the market today, and some are more concerned about quality control than others.  Although not all of our manufacturers are listed under the GMP certification, they are all very careful about quality control and guarantee the potency and quality of their products.

back

Homeopathics - What do the number/letter combinations (6X, 30C, 1M, etc.) mean on the homeopathic products?

In the USA, these number/letter combinations are used to indicate the potency of the product.  The number indicates how many times the solution has been diluted. The letter is a roman numeral, (X=10, C=100, M=1,000), and refers to the proportion of the dilution (1/10, 1/100, etc.). Generally, acute, localized symptoms are treated with low numbers such as 6C. The 30C potencies are most common, and used for first aid, seasonal ailments, and chronic health concerns. Potencies of 200 or higher are often only used when recommended by a qualified homeopath.

back

Medical Advice - can you give me advice for my medical condition?

No, we cannot offer a diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention for disease or any medical condition.  Please consult with your healthcare practitioner if you feel that you may have a disease or any medical condition.

As a responsible, law-abiding retailer, our customer service agents are legally unable to give recommendations on specific supplements for specific health conditions.  We do recommend seeking out a qualified nutritionally oriented health practitioner such as a doctor, nutritionist, naturopath, chiropractor, or herbalist who would take into consideration your body's overall medical history and individual needs and could make legal, appropriate recommendations.

back

Money Back Guarantee - do you offer one?

We do not offer a money-back guarantee on opened items. Simply put, if you open it you own it.

Customers new to any given product usually try one to two containers to see if it is right for them, based on their healthcare practioner’s recommendation, advice, and on-going evaluation, often supplemented with their own research on the item and related subjects.

We do offer a 30 day return/refund policy if the product(s) is in new, unopened, and re-saleable condition.

back

Nattokinase - does it contain soy?

Nattokinase may contain traces of soybeans, unless the manufacturer has specifically noted otherwise.

The enzyme nattokinase was first identified in and isolated from a Japanese food, natto, made from boiled, fermented soybeans. Nowadays, most production of nattokinase involves a medium that includes only a small percentage of soy, and when the enzyme is extracted and purified from that medium, the soy remaining will be very little. Note that nattokinase may be presented in a base containing soy oil. For instance, some nattokinase products are in a base of soy oil, others in rice bran oil, and others may be partnered with natural vitamin E derived from soy.

Wild Earth Market - 100% Organic

... you will see this symbol on each product that contains 100% Certified Organic ingredients.

Not all of the products we carry are certified organic.

Please know that we do make every effort to find and add as many 100% certified organic products to our store as possible. However, some nutrients and/or supplements are not available as organic. Additionally, the term organic may in some cases be irrelevant to the dietary supplement ingredient in question.

Additionally, we have countless other products that may not be 100% organic, yet contain 50 to 99% organic ingredients as well. Further, many of our offerings are from ethically harvested, sustainably sourced raw materials, and/or be free of pesticides, GMO's, fillers, excipients, allergenic materials, artificial colors, flavors, sugars and preservatives ... even if they are not yet fully certified as organic.

If you are aware of an organic supplement which you would like us to carry, please do let us know.  We want to build the Wild Earth Market you want!

Saccharomyces Boulardii - does it need to be refrigerated?

Most brands of Saccharomyces boulardii (a probiotic, non-colonizing yeast species, not a probiotic, colonizing bacteria like L. acidophilus) are somewhat heat sensitive, and should be stored in the refrigerator whenever possible.

However, such brands can readily survive short-term exposure to higher heat, or extended periods of cool (but not refrigerated) storage. However, whenever possible, we recommend refrigeration to ensure product viability over time.

If the specific Saccharomyces boulardii product you are viewing on our website is a heat sensitive brand, we will clearly display it as "Heat Sensitive" on that product's web page.  For such products, we strongly recommend that you choose expedient shipping, especially during hot summer weather.

Sales Tax - do you charge sales tax?

If you live outside North Carolina, USA and your order is going to a physical address outside of North Carolina, USA ... you will NOT be subject to Sales Tax of any kind.

We only charge Sales Tax  -  IF  -  a) you reside in North Carolina, USA and make a purchase, regardless of delivery location, or b) your order is shipped to a physical address within North Carolina AND you live outside the state.

back

SAMe - does it need to be refrigerated, and are there color variations?

Many manufacturers of SAMe do not require special refrigerated handling of this product.

However, refrigeration of SAMe may increase the shelf life.  Therefore, we refrigerate all of the SAMe stock in our warehouse until shipment, and advise refrigeration once you have received and opened the product. This may extend its effective life span.

If the specific brand of SAMe you are viewing on our website is a heat sensitive brand, we will clearly display it as "Heat Sensitive" on that product's web page and in the shopping cart. For such products, we strongly recommend that you choose expedient shipping, especially during hot summer weather.

Because SAMe is a natural product, there can be variations in color.  This is normal and does not mean that the product is faulty or expired.

back

Samples - do you have samples or offer money back on opened items?

We do not have samples, nor do we offer a money-back guarantee on opened items. Simply put, if you open it you own it.  Customers new to any given product usually try one to two containers to see if it is right for them, based on their healthcare practioner’s recommendation, advice, and on-going evaluation, often supplemented with their own research on the item and related subjects.

back

Shipping - are your shipping costs too expensive on my order?

Some of our products and/or shipments require a reasonable shipping fee.  When applicable, our shipping fees reflect the actual shipping cost, including but not limited to, the freight, packing materials, and handling.  For some products and/or shipments, our fees to you are actually less than the total shipping cost.  We are thrilled when you can find shipping fees with other companies for less, but we cannot "match" shipping fees.

To learn all details about our shipping protocols and policies, you can review them here.

Shipping - can you send expedited shipments via "saturday delivery"?

While special Saturday Delivery expedited shipping services may be available to some locations (such as UPS Next Day Saturday Delivery), we do not use these services. In our experience, these services are too expensive, too complicated, and too often end up leaving our customers discouraged and unsatisfied.

However, the US Postal Service may include Saturday as a delivery or transit day at their discretion.

Shipping - can you send shipments with "no signature required?"

To best protect our customers from incurring such losses, we cannot ship orders officially designated as "no signature required."

Shipping involves an inherent risk of loss due to lost or damaged packages. Retail sales involve an inherent risk of order fraud and loss. Please be advised that shipping carriers may reserve the right to deliver packages, especially unexpedited packages, without a signature, according to their policies and at their discretion.

Shipping - why was I charged a shipping fee?

We have a flat rate shipping fee of $4.90 for all basic orders and accompanying shipments.

On heavier orders, we factor in the total weight of the package and calculate the shipping costs accordingly. Examples: a 3 pound parcel would be $6.90, and a 12 pound parcel would be $18.90. Shipments weighing over 3 pounds are typically shipped via UPS Ground.

We offer free shipping on only a handful of select products - that will be clearly identified on those products' pages.

Our Shopping Cart automatically displays your shipping options and any applicable fees. To learn all details about our shipping protocols and polies, you can review them here.

Shipping - will my shipment be irradiated by the shipping provider?

It may or may not be, depending on the shipping service, and possibly your geographical location.

Irradiation is when the shipping provder beams high intensity radiation onto mail and packages to kill any anthrax or other biologically deleterious substances which may be transported.  This may present a problem when shipping foods and dietary supplements, as it not only kills anthrax, but also may have an impact on the supplements or foods.

To the best of our knowledge, the only packages which are currently being irradiated are the ones going through Washington D.C. post offices. For those items, we recommend using UPS Next or 2nd Day Air shipping, as they, to the best of our knowledge, do not use irradiation.

Telephone - do you offer telephone-based customer service?

Wild Earth Market is an e-mail only customer service business.

Vegetarian and Vegetable Capsules - please explain ...

"Vegetarian capsule" refers to a vegetarian product containing only vegetarian ingredients that is encapsulated in a vegetarian capsule.  Vegetarian capsules are often made of pine bark, as is definitely the case with Allergy Research Group and Nutricology products in "Vegetarian Capsule" form, and most likely is the case with our other vendor's products in  "Vegetarian Capsule" form.

"Vegetable capsule," as used primarily by Pure Encapsulations. This also refers to a capsule made of pine bark.  However, the ingredients of a "Vegetable" capsule may or may not be vegetarian, depending on the product.

We do our best to label all truly Vegetarian products as such on each product's own web page.

Vitalzym Products - what are the exact proportions of enzymes in the proprietary formula?

A proprietary formula, also known as a "'proprietary trade formulation," is a patented formulation of ingredients.

A product composed of such a formula, such as Vitalzym, is required by the FDA to list the sum total of ingredients, but is not required to list the quantity of each ingredient in the blend.  As much as we'd like to, we simply can’t find out, and therefore can't relay to you, the exact proportions of the enzymes in the Vitalzym proprietary formula.  Think of 'the Colonel's Secret Recipe' and you'll get the idea.
